Online Movies Killed the Cable Guy

Cable TV is dying if not dead already; in my personal experience our family has not installed cable some 4 years ago. We have been on Netflix for some time now and it is awesome!. Fast forward to 2018, the TV systems that we have now are what we call Smart TV’s they can connect to the internet and connect to social media as well. Before, smart TV’s can only be had with predefined software and a rudimentary OS supporting it. But now we have TV’s that actually offer apps and a full blown android system embedded in its software.  The internet is quick to take advantage of this. Or is it the other way around? Anyway, because of tec like this, it has been easier and easier to stream content from the Internet. Internet streaming sites like 123movies pop up left and right. Also, one other thing is that TV’s offer localized content, for example, if you are in India the tv will most likely have an app that will let you watch movies bollywood online free streaming. This SMART technology is what actually gave rise to a whole new way of enjoying your movies, right at your very fingertips. Cable TV is contributing to its demise by being more expensive than online streaming, which is ridiculously low priced AND people have control over the content and can watch on demand. Some are even free! The younger generation, who grew up with video on demand, will have none of this cable monstrosity. It is predicted that cable tv services will be wiped out by the end of 2018 and that there will be no going back.

Online Movies Killed the Cable Guy

The only real advantage in having cable TV is live broadcasting in news and sports. These are however being rapidly overtaken by advances made in faster internet speeds and reliable wireless internet coverage. More and more sites are offering live streaming features that also deliver the news especially in the world of sports. Aside from the “being Live” advantage, I honestly do not see anything else that can save cable. Let us go on ahead to what makes Online Streaming more feasible for your family.

The one thing that comes to mind with online movie streaming is that for the most part, it is readily accessible across a multitude of devices whereas cable TV can only be had at your living room, with a very specific piece of hardware. You can stream on your phone, your tablet, your laptop and now even on your cars! Even if you are paying for an online movie streaming site like Netflix, it would still be super cheap compared to cable television. The advantages do not stop there. With online streaming, you have total control over what you or your family can watch. You have total control on when and what you can watch and the click of a mouse or the swipe of a finger.

For far too long cable tv had monopolized the living rooms and now it is finally being replaced by something that it simply cannot compete with, the internet. The cable guy would not be coming over this time, except maybe to install internet service.
